Freddie Fuller: The Singing Cowboy -- Monday, September 24th, 2018
FREDDIE FULLER, also known as the “The Singing Cowboy,” is a singer, songwriter, musician and storyteller. For decades, Freddie has performed before thousands at various functions, from house concerts to larger venues such as the famous Broken Spoke. Freddie entertained the troops in Iraq at the request of the commanding General. He has played for hundreds of assisted living, nursing home, and independent living residents.
Freddie is also a frequent performer for Swan Songs, a non-profit that brings the gift of song to people at the end of life. Freddie plays at many private parties and ranches, as well as special functions like the Salado Education Foundation’s annual fundraiser, an event he has played for the past fifteen years. Freddie created and has performed his “History of Texas Cowboy 1850-1900” educational programs to hundreds of public schools and colleges. No stranger to the stage, Freddie has performed musical theater and appeared on local and national television and radio. He was one of the recently featured performers at The Bastrop Farm Street Opry. Fred can perform solo or can be joined by fellow musicians from his band “The Side Kicks” which include any combination of fiddle, bass, saxophone, drums and lead or slide guitar. Food: For 6:00 p.m. concerts, please bring about a dozen helpings of your favorite hors d’oeuvres and your favorite beverages. Thanks!
Cost/Tickets: For concerts, guests are asked to donate what they can afford, but we do not want you to miss the event due to your budget. There are significant costs involved in making these types of events available to the community, and the average cost for an event like this is $10 per person. For anything you give above that amount, the Villa Jubilee Foundation can provide you with a tax-deductible receipt at your request. Proceeds benefit both the artists and VJF.
Address: 3001 County Rd. 330, Walsenburg, CO 81089. Go south on County Rd. 330 (also known as Ideal Road, on the west edge of St. Mary's Cemetery) from Hwy. 160, on the south edge of Walsenburg. Drive three miles, go under railroad trestle, turn right at first mailbox -- you'll see 3001 on the mailbox. Take the driveway up to the house, unload under canopy, then park.
